Solution

We ran a brand workshop with agencyeast looking at all apsects of Peterborough from the influx of European immigrants to the topography and geology of the region. This then enabled us to look at a visual interpretation of the brand afresh.

From this research we were then able to establish a visual look and feel as well as a new naming system. The core identity we produced, after a plethora of options and approaches, was entitled ” Natural Networks” , with the tag line – “Peterborough’s Greengrid”. The identity of the double N – NN was developed using a typeface that gave a nod to the ridge and furrow terrain of the region.

From this concept we developed brand guidelines, designed a strategy document and a website allowing community involvement and engagement on the ground by allowing them to feedback into projects via a community style website featuring blogs, galleries, events and multimedia content.

Results

The launch of Natural Networks took place at a community event in Peterborough, around one of the featured parks and a new series of play sculptures at . The strategy has been well received and the site content is growing on a daily basis. A spring off has been the take-up of the Greengrid mobile explorer project by the main developers at the Hamptons in Peterborough (OH Hampton) and they are now working closely with the guys at Something in developing a real live version of the explorer for a key development in the region.
