We won the local business award for Innovation for our work at Coalhouse Fort on the mobile explorer and integration of social media for community engagement.

Here we are along with Lucy, who won best New Company for Agency East and Matt and Gabrielle from the Royal Opera House who won for Best Business in the Community .

Continuing the development of the Mobile Explorer on the Poikilia platform the work developed at Coalhouse Fort and the BATA estate is beginning to take shape.

Content is being developed with the help of the community in terms of audio recordings, video and photography and whole slew of social media channels have been developed to really engage with the project.

We’ve recently been on location at Coalhouse Fort recording voiceovers of local volunteers as part of our content development for the Mobile Explorer, they’re a great bunch of guys who are really making a difference to the whole project. A great example of Camerons “Big Society” even though they’ve been doing it for years. We need more people like these guys.

Here at the tower we’re nominated in THREE categories at the Thurrock Business Awards 2011, Mark is nominated for “Employee of the Year”, Agency East and Lucy (our CIC) are nominated for “New Business of the Year” and Pixelwork is nominated for “Innovation of the Year” for its work with Coalhouse Fort, social media and the Mobile Explorer.

Awards are on the 18th of March, watch this space..
