Following our recent success at the Thurrock local business awards, last Friday we won the Countywide Essex Business award for Innovation for our digital and social media work with Markus and Poikilia on the Mobile Explorer at Coalhouse Fort Park.

In a black tie ceremony with around 600 entrants and presented by Natasha Kaplinsky and the Judge Stephen Alexander from innovative marketing agency Alexony in Colchester, this was quite an event showcasing the best companies in Essex. Our award for innovation put us up against some stiff competition but in the end all the hard work and time spent on developing the Mobile Explorer over the years paid off and we won the award.

As for the Mobile Explorer, the 1st of June is the official launch date at Coalhouse Fort, we’ve just taken ownership of 10 iPhones and custom protective cases for them, the App has been submitted to the Apple store and the whole content clean up is in progress.

We’re really excited by this, we’ve won 2 awards for it, reception to date has been fantastic, community engagement has been tons of fun and we really think we’ve established a really successful framework for taking this forward to other areas.

We also have garnered  interest for extending this over a much wider area of Essex, so as they say, and it’s very apt with location based services apps… “Watch this Space”.
