Underdrome

We’re off on a company field trip to see Underdrome tonight..Should be very cool….
“Underdrome has been created specially for the Roundhouse, in response to its architecture and heritage. As well as 30 dancers and a 100-strong choir, it brings together artists at the forefront of their field, including visual artist/animator Michael England, plus set designers Block 9. The production also features an integrated soundtrack mixed live by Zan Lyons, juxtaposing classic material from Warp Records artists such as Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Autechre, Leila and Harmonic 313, alongside other electronic musicians – Vladislav Delay, Murcof and Seaming – and specially commissioned new pieces. The soundtrack is devised and performed in collaboration with the London Contemporary Orchestra.”
*****SATURDAY UPDATE ******
Utter Pants!!!! 30 dancers but 26 of them stood around like council workers around a manhole whilst 4 girls danced / writhed on a stage with ear agonisingly desperate music in a vapid dull environment. Couldn’t have been any worse ! And this took a year to develop ?!!! Five of us x 90 minutes = 450 minutes of our life we want back !
