Push Vs Pull

Here’s a quick marketing 101 of something we’re finding pretty useful in the curent economic climate. We’re looking at this strictly in terms of online :
a. Because this is what we do &
b. This is the medium that (as it stands, and going forward) is going to give you the most eyeballs for your budget .. (that bang for buck thing again).
PUSH = delivering your message by forcing or “pushing” out to your potential customer. Worst case example - SPAM, general example an email newsletter (chances are you’re reading this page because you clicked on a link on an email we sent out to you . Congratulations you’ve just been pushed !)
PULL = you want to read our stuff, you come via a blog, video or some content we’ve got floating around on the net and you decided to pay us a visit.
This isn’t trivial stuff, this fundamentally changes how you market what you market
Some people call this inbound vs outbound but the fundamentals are the same.
We didn’t invent it but Seth Godin is probably the guy who did and he can tell you a lot more about it than we can.
