So we’re all about a week and a half in with the the new iPhone and are daily being blown away by the apps available, so far these are the pick of the bunch we’ve downloaded and whats more most of them are FREE :

AIRME – automatically logs in to your Flickr account and uploads a photo as soon as you’ve taken it, its also geotags it at the same time so it becomes instantly available on Flickr and searchable by geography without you having to key in any information. INCREDIBLE. Check out our Flickr stream to see some of this in practice (bear in mind this involves zero typing literally just taking the picture and within seconds it’s online fully tagged). (FREE)

VICINITY – Location Based Services at work, find out what near you from bars to restaurants to banks and coffee shops. This then ties in to Google Maps and gives you full directions and a map view of how to get there. It will even show you Flickr images as well. GENIUS.(£1.59)

MOCHA VNC – So far we’ve only tested out the LITE version but this lets us log into our server and have complete desktop control and view of the server from anywhere…It lags a little but if you need to issue up a reboot or look for a file this is pretty damn handy.(LITE = FREE / FULL = £3.49)

WORDPRESS – manage your blog via the iphone, a mobile ready interface for administering and blogging so now it really is as easy as a few clicks to update your blog from anywhere.(FREE)

AIM – Ichat and instant messaging on your phone. PRICELESS.(But FREE!)

CINEMA – Get movie times and titles for your area, instantly and without the hassle of visiting a number of different cinema websites.(FREE)

NEWSGATOR – Sync with your online RSS news feed account all in one easy to consume app..Handy (FREE)

SHAZAM – the 2580 mobile service hits the iPhone , find out the name of a tune by holding the app up to a speaker, we’ve been using the standard version for years but it’s now been upgraded for the iPhone. Always useful to have.

MIDOMI – Say the name of a song into the phone , or sing or even hum it and it will tell you the name of that song allowing you to buy and download it…very funny listening to everyone’ talentless singing and getting Arabic or Japanese song results.(FREE)

and finally our PIXELWORK rss reader (I know,I know, but it’s out first step at producing an app for the iPhone), watch this space we’ve got some cool ideas for doing some apps in the near future.
