So I’m watching TV, laptop on lap, multi-tasking as usual when a random ad comes on, about a skydiver getting his gear ready. The ad ends with the text “difficult is worth doing .com” in capitals.

Following this URL takes you to a blog about the making of a commercial, a commercial for the new Honda ad.

This is a nice diversion from their recent ads which have all been exceptional, this time rather than show the ad then the “making of” (like they did with “Cog” ), they’ve take the opposite approach and are buying TV time for the making of the ad (with no mention of the brand on the TV ad), linking to the “making of” blog and then launching the ad on TV later, nice to see they’ve used a Typepad blog too , no custom developed solution here.

Looking at the blog it seems like we could be a good few weeks away from seeing the final ad so it will be interesting to see how Honda gather momentum in the build up - online and offline….
